Originally from Allendale, South Carolina, Alex Cone left home after graduating from Patrick Henry Academy in Estill to attend Wofford College. After graduation, Alex lived in Spartanburg and West Columbia and maintained a home in Allendale before becoming a full-time Edisto Beach resident. Thirty years ago, Alex's lifelong best friend brought him to Edisto for a long summer weekend to celebrate her birthday. From that point on, Edisto has been in Alex's blood. The beauty of the landscape coupled with that of the hearts of its people would forever tug at him. Alex was a banker and managed both an auction gallery and a five-county non-profit arts organization before becoming a real estate paralegal. Real estate law and its practice captivated his intellect much as Edisto had his heart. It was while a practicing real estate paralegal that Alex found the opportunity to purchase his first piece of property at Edisto. Those of you who have spent time here know that once Edisto finds you, she never lets you go. Alex decided to leave Allendale and fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time resident of Edisto. In doing so, his new career field was not to be a foreign one--real estate! But after his time as a paralegal that had instilled in him a thorough knowledge of the legal and financial ins and out of real estate transfers, he decided to sit at the other side of the real estate table, helping others find their dream on Edisto Island. Alex shares his home with his husband, Michael, and his seven children--all of whom have paws. And yes, they all love Edisto Island as much as Alex does. Alex is sold on Edisto. You should be, too!
